작가 소개
한국화가 허동원은 예원예술대학교 문화예술대학원에서 문화영상창업학을 전공하며 예술과 산업의 접점을 탐구해 왔다. 1998년 한국화우회전을 시작으로 한국미술협회, 전북미술협회, 환경미술협회 등에서 활발한 작품 활동을 이어오고 있다.
그의 예술 세계는 자연과 일상을 평면적 조형 언어로 재해석하는 데 집중한다. 숲, 나무, 집과 같은 일상적 소재를 사실적으로 구현하는 동시에, 직접 경험하지 못한 영역은 작가적 상상력과 미묘한 변형을 통해 독창적인 미적 가치로 승화시킨다. 특히 한글 자모를 현대적 디자인과 서예의 전통미로 조화시킨 작업은 선과 면의 시각적 균형을 통해 한국 미술의 새로운 가능성을 제시한다.
현재 지식문화콘텐츠 및 얼굴문화원 대표로서 문화콘텐츠 개발과 스타트업 컨설팅을 병행하고 있으며, 예술적 자산을 비즈니스와 교육에 접목하는 다각적인 행보를 보여주고 있다.
Korean artist Heo Dong-won majored in culture and video entrepreneurship at the Graduate School of Culture and Arts at Yewon University of the Arts and has been exploring the interface between art and industry. Starting with the Korean Painting Association in 1998, he has been actively engaged in works at the Korea Art Association, Jeonbuk Art Association, and Environmental Art Association.
His art world focuses on reinterpreting nature and daily life in flat formative language. While realistically embodying everyday materials such as forests, trees, and houses, areas that have not been directly experienced are sublimated into original aesthetic values through the artist's imagination and subtle transformation. In particular, the work of harmonizing Hangul consonants with the traditional beauty of modern design and calligraphy presents new possibilities for Korean art through the visual balance between lines and sides.
As a representative of the Knowledge Culture Content and Facial Culture Center, he is currently developing cultural contents and consulting startups, and is showing various steps to incorporate artistic assets into business and education.
